Geminids #23116 viewsAs mentioned in the earlier photo, I had the WebCam set up to capture an image every minute. This is the second Geminid Meteor I captured. This one was in the early morning hours and the radiant had risen high in the sky and the metoer is going almost straight down in the middle of the image.Oct 16, 2007

Cumulonimbus2567 viewsI was flying back from Boston and got a chance to see some spectacular weather from the air. We were heading West over Arizona and the hot afternoon Sun was creating some beautiful Cumulonimbus clouds. We were flying at approximately 32,000 Feet and the Thermal Convection was driving these clouds well above us. Taken July 23, 2007.Aug 31, 2007

Lunar Eclipse August 28, 20072010 viewsThe Moon is just beginning to emerge from the Umbra. The red glow of the eclipsed Moon can be seen as usual but I was also looking for the "Turquoise" that I had been reading about lately.

I saw it in person. It was beautiful.

I had a hard time focusing though (as you can tell).

Lowe Fire 21933 viewsA small brush fire in Altadena, CA yesterday was brought under control quickly by Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire Crews. The "LOWE" fire was fought primarily from the air with the support of Camp Crews.
In this photo a Helicopter makes a water drop right over a Camp Crew working the fire below.

Lowe Fire 12024 viewsA small brush fire in Altadena, CA, 8/26/07, was brought under control quickly by Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire Crews. Due to the rough terrain, the fire was fought primarily from the air with the support of Camp Crews. In this photo, one of the new BlackHawk Helicopters used by Los Angeles County Fire snorkels water from a "Pumpkin" set up at a nearby Helispot. The BlackHawks can carry 1,000 Gallons compared to 300 carried by older Helicopters.
