Gold Dust Gecko2060 viewsThe Gold Dust Day Gecko is a very colorful lizard that averages 4 to 5 inches in length. It's body is mostly bright green but you can see specks of gold color along it's back. The top of the eye is bright powder blue. This little guy was hanging out at our hotel in Keauhou. He was very friendly and let me get close enough for this picture.

Reticulation2057 viewsI couldn't get these Zebras to look at me so I had to settle for their butts. The pattern of black and white reminded me of a process in film developing called "Reticulation" where tiny cracks are formed in the films emulsion.

Lowe Fire 12048 viewsA small brush fire in Altadena, CA, 8/26/07, was brought under control quickly by Angeles National Forest and Los Angeles County Fire Crews. Due to the rough terrain, the fire was fought primarily from the air with the support of Camp Crews. In this photo, one of the new BlackHawk Helicopters used by Los Angeles County Fire snorkels water from a "Pumpkin" set up at a nearby Helispot. The BlackHawks can carry 1,000 Gallons compared to 300 carried by older Helicopters.

Na Pali Inside Out2047 viewsWe took a wonderful boat ride along the Na Pali Coast. They stopped at several points of interest along the way, the highlight being when they backed into one of the many Sea Caves. Quite a feat considering the fairly rough seas at the time.
